I have a Welborn family bible and it has written confirmation that John Segars was born June 4, 1801. His daughter Martha E. Segars (born Sept. 10, 1834) was my gggrandmother and her husband was Locky B. Welborn. John also had another daughter named Lucinda (born Feb. 5, 1826) who married Woodley P. Welborn. I believe that John's other children were Zachariah, William H, Sandy Pascal, Sarah Ann and Thomas along with a few more. I also believe that John and Tempia in the 1850 Forsyth Co Census was my John because Tempia (Tempy) was the name of my great grandmother (Martha's daughter.) John moved to Marshall County, AL where he got married again to Rebecca Lay. I would love to here from anyone who might have some more information to share with me or to let me know if I am on the right track. Thanks Sandy Submitter: mabel johnson Subject: <A HREF="http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/message/an/surnames.welborn/18">Thomas Welborn</A> Message: Thomas was my husbands gggrandfather born 14 Oct 1845 in Walton Co, GA married Frances Parker 25 Aug. 1861. Then moved to Winston Co. Ala. They had at least one daughter Martha Ann 1867 who married Benjamin Hardy Welborn in 1883. Thomas died 3 Oct.1919 in Winston Co. Ala. I know he and Locky Benjamin Welborn were cousins but I can't find any other information on any of the Welborn's.
