I must tell you that 95& of the information that I have on this family has been taken from the research work of Ann Beeson Gahan who kindly shared her work with me and many others too. Davis Wilburn b 1792 in NCm Hannah Haywood in Stokes Co NC. (I can tell you that there is some connection, between the Davis and Clinard and Wilburn families before Davis Wilburn was born.) Davis Clinard, born a generation or more earlier, is a factor.) Some Wilburns from this family married into the Clinard family, who were descendants of Davis Clinard) Please note there is a marriage record of Davis Wilburn and Hannah Haywood, but I failed to enter in my database. Davis Wilburn and Hannah Haywood had the following children. Daniel b 1811 m Nancy Justice/son Milton Wilburn Geo b 1815 m Levina Unk (son Robert b 1841. Dau Ruth C b 1845 IN Lewis b May 22 1817 m Mary Gordan Their children are: Marcus, Melvel, James, Josephine? Wm b 1822 Polly b c 1824 John F b Sept 30 1830 died 1899 Park co IN His children were: Hannah b 1863 Clinton, Oliver and Margaret. Davis Wilburn b 1792 in Stokes NC was son of William Wilburn and Prudence Davis of Stokes NC. (again there is marriage record that I neglected to enter) Wm Wilburn m to Prudence Davis was b Sept 28 1761 in Rowan Co NC and died Dec 28 1841 Children of Wm and Prudence Davis Wilburn are: Moses Samuel Cary Prudence DAVIS b 1782 Wm Wilburn m to Prudence Davis was the son of James Wilburn or Welborn, b Aug 18 1736 Hartford Co MD and died in Barron co KY in 1811. and his mother: Isabelle Teague, who was the daughter of Moses Teague. James Wilburn/Welborn was the son of William Wilburn b 1712 and Ann Crabtree, dau of William Crabtree also of MD. William Wilburn m to Ann Crabtree was the son of Edward Wilburn and Elizabeth (Mitchell) a widow whose first husband was a Mitchell...Edward died in 1731 in Baltimore Co MD. I believe that Edward Wilburn m to Eliz Mitchell was the son of Edward Wilburn.... Please note, that I am not the best source of information on these early Welborns or Wilburns...For more details and documents of support, please go to the Welborn genforum and punch in Crabtree or Teague. There is a ton of information re: these early families. You might also look for Ann Gahan who is most knowledgeable of her ancestors.
