    3. Here is what I have. Lewis Wilburn b May 22 1817 m Nancy Gordan. Lewis was the son of Davis Wilburn and Hannah Haywood. ------------------------------------------ Here is how this line goes (at least according to my records) Davis Wilburn b 1792 in Stokes Co NC m Hannah Haywood in Stokes Co NC children of Davis Wilburn b 1792 and Hannah Haywood Wilburn are: Lewis Wilburn b 1817 m Nancy Gordan Daniel Wilburn b 1815 m Nancy Justice. He died Dec 28 1874 George Wilburn m LEVINA (last name unk)...their children were: Wm b 1841, Ruth C b 1845 William b 1822.... (could she be the Levina who married Annon Gordan???? Don't know??? ----------The following info sent to me by reseacher Ann L Beeson Gahan. parents of Davis Wilburn b 1792 Stokes Co NC died in Madison Co IN.. Are: William Wilburn or Welborn b Sept 28 1761 Rowan Co NC, died Dec 28 1841 Guliford Co NC. Wm Wilburn married Prudence Davis in Stokes Co NC. William Wilburn b Sept 28 1761 was the son of: James Welborn b Aug 18 1738 in Hardford Co MD and Isabell Teague, daughter of Moses Teague also of Hardford Co MD. James died in Barron Co KY in 1811. James Welborn b 1738 was the son of William Wilburn or Welborn b 1713 and Ann Crabtree. William Welborn b 1713 died in Rowan Co NC in 1772. Ann Crabtree was the daughter of William Crabtree of Baltimore Co MD. William Welborn b 1713 was the son of Edward Welborn who died in 1731 in Baltimore Co MD and was married to Eliz Mitchell, a widow. ---------------------------------------------------- My hunch is that this Gordan line descends from a Gordan who was b c 1670 and was married to Mary Hampton who was b in Scotland. Please keep in mind that I offer this up only as a possible clue. I have other Gordans who appear to connect to these families and this Gordan/Hamptons are ancestors... Again, I wish to thank Ann L Gahan for her many years of research on these early Welborn and allied families who were Quakers in Chester Co PA and later Hardford Co MD before moving to Rowan Co NC. Hancock This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Wilburn, Wilborn, Lamar, Gordon Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ncWBAIB/345.1 Message Board Post: Hi: I found your posting and family names very intriging. These surnames appear in my family from research done of the Gordon family of Madison County Indiana about 1850. Osburn Lamar, b 1814, was the father of George Washington Lamar who married my gr aunt, Hannah Gordon. Hannah's parents were Lavina Wilburn Gordon & Annon Gordon. Annon's sister Nancy Gordon married Lewis Wilburn. Osburn Lamar's father was Isaac Lamar born 1788 in NC and his father was Osborn Lamar born 1756 in NC. I have very little info on the Wilburns. Do you think there could be a family connection? The names certainly would give one that impression. ==== WILBURN Mailing List ==== Be sure to check out the Wilburn mailing list web page at http://www.geocities.com/WilburnWeb/ for links to other Wilburn pages!
