    3. Hello from San Diego. I hope that all of your in Wilburn land had a great Holiday! I've been going through my database and looking at allied families of Wilburns. The Adams family is one example of a line whose family members married into many families that Wilburns also married into. Although I only have two Wilburn/Adams marriages in my database, I am sure that there were other Wilburn/Adam marriages before and after 1850. At any event, many of these families who married Adams also married into Wilburn families too. You might want to look at some of these surnames that I posted on the Adams genfourm and see if you recognize any surnames that match your own ancestors who also married Wilburns. These names represent "cluster families". As we know, our ancestors married into the same families for many generations. Often this pattern continued for well over a hundred years. I have seen lines that continue for 250 years...no doubt these younger generations had no idea that when they tied the knot, they were marrying distant kin. My own parents would have been greatly surprised to learn that they were sixth and seventh cousins. Who knew??? Anyhow, if this method of looking at possible ancestors is of interest, please let me know and I will be happy to zap more links on this forum. Holiday Cheers!
