I put a few names in last night to test the system. I found a marriage for Mary Emily Beller to Lanceford S. Fulbright and three children that I did not have. They tell you to confirm the data and I plan to check this out. I have found some mistakes in their information, but have found some good stuff too. 3. Thank you Rhonda -- do you know, there are still people online who blame "the Mormons" if they spot any incorrect bit of information on the LDS Family Search website. I don't know why - most of the data on the LDS site is acquired and posted by people like you ane me. But LDS has been at this much longer, its database is much larger, and it has always been available to the public. No, I am not Mormon, but I have found so much valuable information at the LDS site, and I appreciate all the effort, and especially the accessibility. And thank you, too, Rhonda, for the data that you make available. 3. >From CNN.com: SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (AP) -- The Mormon church has put millions of 19th century ancestors on its genealogy Web site, giving family tree buffs a more convenient -- and free -- way to trace their heritage. The church said Wednesday it's offering free Internet access to 55 million names from the 1880 United States Census and the 1881 Canadian Census. Before, census records from those years were available on a microfilm set spanning 56 compact discs -- a search process many found cumbersome and time-consuming. People either had to buy the set or visit a Mormon genealogy center. On the Web site, www.familysearch.org, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints allows searchers to find ancestors not only by name, but race, birthplace, location or neighbor's name. 3. Lewis Wilburn m Mary Garland in 1804 in Johnston Co NC...This Lewis appears to be either the son or grandson of Edward Wilburn who died in Surry NC in 1806. Edward Wilburn of Surry NC also had a grandson named Edward Wilburn who married Nancy Overton. It appears to me from tracking these two families (Garland and Overton) on the internet, that these noted immigrants (Garland and Overton) in this posting are the ancestors of the Garland and Overton families who later married Wilburns... 3. Please note: Ruben Wilburn b. 1808, (probable in Wilkes co NC) was the son of Lewis Wilburn and Susan Blevins. Rueben Wilburn married Sarah Burchett...Sararh Burchett's mother was a Herron... Rueben Wilburn and Sarah Burchett Wilburn had ten children... One of their sons, Lewis Wilburn b. 1846 in Carter KY married Eliz Herron... One can see that there has to be connections to these Wilburn and Morris families. Does anyone know anything about these lines???? I know there is a Bright/Center line that appears to connect to Wilburns of Ashe Co NC? Does anyone have any info to share on this??? Thanks heaps! 3. Vikky Wilburn Anders here...Some thoughts about William Warren Wilburn... Recently Doyle Brittain posted on the Wilburn website, a pedigree of William Warren Wilburn, b May 12, 1782 -Dec 23 1859 in Boone/Carroll AR. I had seen this pedigree before and wondered if it were accurate???? I had a hunch this might not be the case. So I did some more snooping...and I am NOW convinced that I was WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! I found at least TEN pieces of evidence that supports this pedigree! For the sake of brevity I will only note three.. 1. Barton/Warren marriage....Warrens also connect to Crabtrees... 2. Warren/SPURGEON marriage... 3. William Warren b. 1767...and his family... If one looks at the pedigree of William Warren Wilburn, one will find BARTONS and SPURGEONS as allied families...

    3. Carol, may I interrupt this string briefly. I have "Lite" Wilburn as being the son of Lihue Tandy Wilburn and the information I have shows his name was Tandy Lihue Wilburn, not same order as his dad. I went to the Wilburn Reunion in Harrison Ark this summer and met there several descendants of most of the children of William W. Wilburn, including James Johnson Wilburn. You may already correspond with those descendants, but I will send you email addresses for some of the ones I have and also, do you have photos of the Wilburn Cem in Harrison. If not, I will send you some copies. Felix G. Wilburn was a brother of James Johnson Wilburn and also married to a Beller-- Lydia. Some descendants of James Johnson Wlburn and I believe Lydia Beller and Mary Ellis Beller are from the same Beller branch. I have the children of Lihue Tandy Wilburn and Nancy Jane Roberts as Felix Galimon Wilburn (named no doubt after my G*Gfather, T.J. Wilburn, Amanda Wilburn, Joseph S, Nancy H, and Tandy T. 3. Ruth, I would be very interested in the text of the will that mentions "Tandy." As you may remember, one of the sons of William W. Wilburn (b.12 May 1782 Virginia) was named Lihue Tandy Wilburn and this line of Wilburns were very faithful in naming their children for other family members. We have not been able to find WWW's parents, nor the maiden name of his wife Frances. None of the other names you mention are in Williams immediate line, to my knowledge. Vicki, I have photos of WWW gravestone and that of his wife Frances, as well as FElix G. Wilburn and Felix Jr. I will send to you by separate email if you do not already have and are interested. Aside from everything the photos means to me, they establish the birth date and birth state of WWW with some certainty. The cemetery is on land owned at one time by WWW, and the stones are very old with newer engraving on the opposite side of the very old engraved side. email me at hdearing@hal-pc.org Helen Dearing. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Vikky Anders" <vikkya@msn.com> To: <WILBURN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, October 12, 2002 5:26 PM Subject: [WILBURN-L] Richard Wilburn of Goochland, VA c 1750 > The following is info that I have gleamed re: Richard Wilburn of Goochland, VA > > It appears likely that he was married to Ann Whitlock and that his people lived in Middlesex Co VA c 1727.
