    1. Re: [WILBURN-L] William WARREN Wilburn website!
    2. Yolanda Wilson did all the work on the web page. We could not have shared this information without her. A lot of my data was given to me by relatives through the years, but I have done some research in the last ten years. We are hoping that each family will look at the information and make corrections or additions. My direct line is fairly accurate, but the other branches need input from those who know the facts. The web page does not always show the parents of some of the people, but I have a lot of the parent's names with memos about where they lived during census times. Spelling of names has always been a problem. The census takers often misspelled names and this carried over into our database. Even the marriage and death records are often misspelled. When we get legal documents with signatures of our relatives is one way we can correct the spelling. I have several generations of information about living members of my line that we can't put on the web page. I will be happy to share this with anyone who is interested if they provide me with their private email address.

    3. Yolanda, My sincere apologies! Sometimes I just don't think clearly....I think your website is great! I added this to my favorites for future reference. There is a reason that I don't have my own website. And that is....I lack the talent and skill to get one set up. So I am very grateful to people like you and Ronda Wilburn Houston who do have these talents and take the time and also provide personal finances to set these websites up so that the rest of us can learn and enjoy. 2. Yolanda, For some reason I thought you lived in LA. Where do you live in Houston? I live in N/W near Inwood Forest golf course. My subdivision is called Bayou Bend. It is located off Alabonson Road about three blocks north of West Little York. Alabonson is about five blocks west of Antoine off of Victory. There are several Wilburn cousins living in Houston. Billy Bert "Buddy" Wilburn lives near T. C. Jester and West 43rd Street. He is 42 and direct descendant of Lihue Tandy. Helen Dearing and I are going to get together and look at family pictures some time soon and you might want to join us. We might be able to put some of them on the web site. 1. [WILBURN-L] WILBURN/WILBRAHAM of Derbyshire
    2. bladon.england
    3. Hello I am researching the names of WILBURN/WILBOURNE in Derbyshire, England from the mid 1700s. For some reason the name WILBURN was used interchangably with WILBRAHAM. My ancestor was christened Paul WILBOURNE in North Wingfield, Derbyshire in 1789, the son of Thomas and Ann. He married in 1814 in North Wingfield to Mary ELLIOT, under the name WILBRAHAM. His children were christened under the name WILBRAHAM, but one was married under the name WILBOURNE. Some of Paul's cousins used the names WILBRAHAM and WILBOURNE interchangeably, making research very interesting! For many years I thought the two families were separate, but after many months of in depth research, I know they are the same people. Paul and most of his family emigrated to America in the 1840s, and he died in Philiadelphia in 1846. After his death some of his family returned to Derbyshire. If anyone else is researching this family I would be very pleased to hear from them! Thank you Valerie Chesterfield, Derbyshire

    2. I know very little about the Henson family, but I will give you what I have. Abigail Florence Murdock born May 10, 1842 Meadowview, VA first married William Sylvester Snodgrass Jan 27, 1859. They had my grandmother, Martha Ann Snodgrass 9-10-1861 at Abingdon, VA. Wm. Snodgrass died when Martha Ann was about two years old. Abigail Florence Murdock second married Jess Lee Earls (not sure where). They had three children: Stonewall Lee Earls, Jack Earls, and Joe Earls. Her third husband was William "Bill" Henson. Most of her family had migrated to AR by this time, so they could have married in AR. They had one son, Joe Henson, he married a lady named Narcissus (not sure of spelling and no surname for her). They had three children: Truman Henson, Verita Henson, and Willie Lee born 1920 TX and died 4-6-1983 at El Campo, Wharton Co. TX. We used to visit this family because they lived at Ganado, TX where my grandmother lived. Truman Henson lived at Victoria, TX after he married, but I didn't keep up with him. Verita moved to Houston, TX and was killed while crossing a street. She never married. Willie Lee Henson born 5-16-1920 lived at Ganado, Jackson Co. TX but died 4-6-1983 in El Campo, Wharton Co. TX. As you can see, I have little information on the Henson line.

    3. Vikky back again, What I have is limited...Sarah Dickerson b 1850 m William Arthur Wilburn b Nov 19 1855 in Carter KY. They were married Aug 10 1878 in Carter KY. Their children were: Willis Wilburn b 1873 m Molly ? Jesse James Wilburn May 17 1877 d July 18 1914 m Lucy Phillips (Carter KY) Thomas April 29 1855 d 1916 m Maude Phillips. William Arthur Wilburn was the son of Jesse Wilburn b 1824 in TN m to Fanny Jordan. --------------------------- Lewis Wilburn b. 1802 m Elizabeth Fitzpatrick Wilburn had ten children: daughter Margaret b 1825 m John Waugh...in Carter KY in 1844, I think that is is likely that the Dickerson and Waugh families in Middlesex Co VA c 1720 were the ancestors of these Carter KY families...I know this is a broad leap, but many of these families that were kin to Wilburns who settled into Carter KY ...like the Wilburns who settled into Carter KY also had roots in Middlesex Co VA during that era. Migration patterns and cluster families make this probable. Hope this is of small help.
