Angela, I received your post from Yolanda Wilson and I don't think Lillian Lucille Wilburn is my line, but the following two posts refer to her and might give you some information to work with. Mildred Wilburn Spencer Houston, TX WILBURN Lillian Lucille WILBURN was born in Dekalb County, AL sometime between 1915-1920. Her parents were Sarah Ann Elizabeth Clement Norris and Milo Wilburn. She is my great aunt. She married a man named Leon Johnson and they lived for a while in Huntsville, AL. Leon had a set of twin sisters, but not sure what their names were. I found a picture of Lillian with a set of twin girls that look like they are probably in their teens or close to it. This picture was developed by Fox Company in San Antonio, TX. It is dated Nov. 1939. I have been told that this company still exists. But am not sure how to go about getting info from them about this picture or if they kept records that far back. I would really be eternally grateful if someone could help locate this woman or any descendants. Dear Ms Spencer, Kelly Searles is my long lost cousin I never knew I had til last Summer and who actually started me on these quests. :o) We have had fun comparing notes and I have talked to her and other members. Hello, I'm researching the name WILBURN/WILBOURN etc and WILBRAHAM and variants. My ancestors lived in Derbyshire, England, particularly the North Wingfield parish and neighbouring parishes such as Chesterfield and Morton. My earliest ancestor is Richard WILBOURN and wife Phoebe in the early 1700s. Their son Thomas WILBOURN married Ann (ANDERSON I think) and their son Paul WILBRAHAM born 1786 at Clay Cross in the North Wingfield parish married Mary ELLIOT. Anyone else interested in this family, please get in touch! Thanks Valerie Chesterfield

>From what I understand, the Floyd families of Accomack, VA also lived in Surry/Sussex Co VA . At any event, some Floyd families were related to Wilburn families of Sussex Co VA. Some of these Wilburns later related to Bedford Co VA... For those of you who do, you might find this of interest. VikkyA@msn.com http://genforum.genealogy.com/floyd/messages/1953.html
Some of you Wilburns also have Floyd ancestors. those that do, might find this of interest. I will follow up with another related post. http://genforum.genealogy.com/floyd/messages/1675.html VikkyA@msn.com
If forgot to note in my last post re: Wilburns and Daniel Boone. If you looked at the post you will also see the name ISBELL connected to Boone. Wilburns of Hancock Co TN were related to the ISBELL family. If this is of interest, let me know. Thanks! VikkyA@msn.com
Some comments here: >From the time I was just a kid growing up in San Diego, my father and his family claimed that our Wilburns trekked with Daniel Boone. (My Dad and his large family were from KY and southern IN.) Many years later, about the time I turned 50, I started calling up Aunts and Uncles with the intent of trying to learn everything I could about my ancestors. (All the questions, that I never thought to ask my Dad when he was still alive.). They repeated the story of Boone and our early Wilburn ancestors. In addition, I was told that our Wilburns came over from Wales and settled into Jamestown VA during the early 1600's. This information was handed down to them via their great Uncle Harvey Wilburn, who as a young man, served with the Union Forces during the Civil War. (Harvey Wilburn 1844-1936). According to my Uncle Charlie, Harvey repeated these stories before finally succumbing to his CIVIL WAR INJURIES, at AGE 92. (Indeed, that bit of information alone amazes me still.) Before the internet, when family researchers were contacting others via long distance phoning and snail mail, other Wilburns told me that they too, had been told that their Wilburn ancestors trekked with Boone into KY and TN. But alas, I could find no evidence that my own direct WILBURN ancestors ever connected with Daniel Boone and his family. BUT in over ten years of researching, I have come across other bits and pieces of evidence that does put other Wilburns in the company of Boone and his family and companions. For example: Thomas Wilburn and Zahariah Wilburn were both listed in Madison Co KY tax records in 1787. In addition, Zachariah Wilburn is noted as being Uncle of Polly Wilburn Champ. From the same Champ family that Boone trekked with for a number of years. (Zachariah Wilburn is the son of Edward S Wilburn who died in Surry Co NC in 1806.) A number of descendants of Edward S Wilburn left Surry NC and settled into Knox, Clinton and Cumberland KY and from there some went to Sangamon Co ILL, then into Iowa and beyond. Others left KY and lived in Jackson Co MO and then went to to TX, while some from this same family went to CA during the Gold Rush era c 1849. To my knowledge, the descendants of Edward S Wilburn (c 1730-1806) were the first Wilburns to settle into California. One thing that I have learned during my years of research is that many families who Wilburns married were indeed, noted Long Hunters. As I suspect that were some Wilburns also. There is an interesting Long Hunter website. Lots of veteran researchers and more than a few scholars share their research. I lost track of this website, when I moved this past year, but I am certain that it can be easily found by punching in the name LongHunter. John Van Groser has a Hays connection to the Boone family so I thought that I would post this accordingly. Cheers again. Vikky http://genforum.genealogy.com/cgi-bin/pageload.cgi?isbell::boone::1935.html PS, Please let me know if you find this kind of information of interest. If so, I will continue to post other tidbits of information. Unless, I get some feedback, I don't know what is of interest and what is not. Thanks. vikkyA@msn.com

Wilburns and Hughes allied for several hundred years. I posted this before, but for any new people to this website, I thought you might find this of interest. Many of us Wilburns today, have early Wilburn/Hughes VA ancestors. Perhaps a majority of us do. But this is merely my own guess work.
