William Henson) Wilburn married Lucinda E. McEndree. This I have proven several times over. Their children are: William Frederick, Thompson M, Charles L., Mary, Ida Virginia, Arthur, Stuart, Lee S. and Julia Ann. I have no proof of Henson's parents, but am trying to find out if Rezin is indeed his father. Now there IS a Hanson W. Wilburn who married Clarissa Friend. This has also been proven in many ways. The questions here are: Who is Henson's father, and if it was not Rezin, how does Rezin fit in here? Are Hanson and Henson the same person? Was he a bigamist? Are Hanson and Henson cousins? Is there any connection at all between the two (one would certainly assume based on geography and name similarity)? I have Henson with Lucinda in the 1860 (Alexandria) and 1870 (Warrenton, Fauquier Co.) censuses. Lucinda is in the 1850 census with her parents and several of her children by Henson, but Henson himself I have been unable to find. So, where do we go from here? Yes, I know that some people have been seeking his parents for a very long time now with no success. Some of these cases are very difficult to crack. And this is one of them. I gave it a try and did come up with some clues but that's about all. The clues come from the Sibley family and who they were related too. When all else fails, often we have to seek the family of the wife for clues. And usually we will find something that leads us to a tiny clue that hopefully will lead us to another. Julie, this much I can tell you. It is very doubtful that anyone today knows the answer to your quere. So its up to you or anyone else who is interested to play detective and learn for yourself who Walter's parents are. And as you know this is not going to be easy. I can give you some tips. But that's about all. For example, the Sibleys were related to the Waters family in Catawaba Co NC and elsewhere. There was a Wilburn Waters...a noted explorer. Mountain man and all of that. Walter Wilburn and his wife might well tie into this family. I think this is possible. You also need to look at the census records and jot down the names of nearest neighbors for clues. Nearest neighbors are the best clues yet! All of these families were related to their neighbors in some fashion. If you do that and can give me the names of nearest neighbors, then I have something to work with. But I would need that kind of information to be able to help. (As far as Gunnery AJ Wilburn goes, I do not see any immediate connection to Walter Wilburn.) Cheers, Vikky

I have a Welborn family bible and it has written confirmation that John Segars was born June 4, 1801. His daughter Martha E. Segars (born Sept. 10, 1834) was my gggrandmother and her husband was Locky B. Welborn. John also had another daughter named Lucinda (born Feb. 5, 1826) who married Woodley P. Welborn. I believe that John's other children were Zachariah, William H, Sandy Pascal, Sarah Ann and Thomas along with a few more. I also believe that John and Tempia in the 1850 Forsyth Co Census was my John because Tempia (Tempy) was the name of my great grandmother (Martha's daughter.) John moved to Marshall County, AL where he got married again to Rebecca Lay. I would love to here from anyone who might have some more information to share with me or to let me know if I am on the right track.
