She was 98 years old. She was born May 28, 1909, in Polar, a daughter of the late Gustaf and Mary (Summ) Martin. On May 28, 1949 she married Ewald Flemming at St. John Lutheran Church in Polar. He preceded her in death. A lifelong resident of Langlade County, she was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Church Women and the church choir. She was also a member of Spring Valley Women's Club. Mrs. Flemming was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, crocheting, craftwork, playing cards and flower gardening. Survivors include a daughter, Eunice Page, Pearson, a brother, Leonard Martin, Cudahy, two stepchildren, Arlene (Gene) Kuenzli, Rhinelander, Gloria (Milton) Kolpack, Polar, a step-daughter-in-law, Lu Flemming, Antigo, eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren and many step-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Flemming was predeaceased by a daughter, Elaine Stuempges Rogers, a grandson, Brian, a sister Anita McMarrow, three brothers, Harold, Marlow and Oscar, an a son-in-law, Sterling Page. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Church. Rev. Nancy Richmond will officiate. Burial will be in the Town of Polar Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3 until 7 p.m. at the Strasser-Roller Funeral Home and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Corrections: Her father's name was spelt Gustav, not Gustaf. Her daughter Elaine's married name was spelt Rodgers, not Rogers. Another son-in-law in addition to Sterling Page, was Thomas Rodgers. The count of 10 great-grandchildren should be 11. The count of 7 great-great-grandchildren should be 8. Rest in peace, grandma.
