A. SCHLEINZ, RETIRED TAVERN OPERATOR, DIES George A. Schleinz, 70, tavern operator at Phlox for many years prior to retirement, died this morning at the Langlade County Memorial hospital. A resident of Phlox since childhood, he was born April 28, 1895, in the town of Hutchins, Shawano county. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church at Phlox and the Holy Name Society. Surviving besides his wife, the former Ellen Debroux, to whom he was married May 2, 1917, are seven children. The three daughters and four sons are Mrs. Francis (Bernice) White of Mattoon, Mrs. Oscar (Audrey) Koeppel of Phlox, Mrs. Vernon (Elaine) Koeppel of South Milwaukee, Donald of Rhinelander, Richard of Appleton, James of St. Louis, Mo., and George Jr. of Antigo. Also surviving are two sisters and four brothers, Miss Mary Schleinz of Milwaukee, Mrs. Charles Erickson of Portage, Wis., Anton Schleinz of Aniwa, Frank Schleinz and Joseph Schleinz, both of Sheboygan, and Wilbert Schleinz of Phoenix, Ariz. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic church. The Rev. Bernard Geimer will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the McCandless-Zobel and Bradley funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday and the rosary will be said by the parish and Holy Name Society at 8 p.m. Sunday.
