I'm working on a comparison spreadsheet on the John Bonnell 'Rev War Soldier' (b.1757 d.1845 Erie, PA) at . http://www.kbsb.com/bonnelltree/john-compare.htm (there are several tabbed pages to this at the bottom of the spreadsheet) So far, I have found 5 different John Bonnells in the Rev War - and I'm trying to sort things out with this side-by-side view. So far, I can find no valid source for his Birth place or Parents and I am concerned with the mention of the following concerning John's birth place & parents: {".. William's parents were John Bunnell b. 1757 NJ died 1845 Erie, Pa and mom could poss. be Nancy Farraday or Betsy Pandy b. 1761 or there could have been two wives. John's parents were William Bunnell b. 1735 New Haven, Ct. married Betsy Parrody b. 1739 in New Haven and died in Green Twp. Erie, Pa. .."} Claude Bunnell's DataBase ( http://www.williambunnellfamily.org ) also has some of this info (Ref # 027429) based on an LDS entry... The entry is from an individual, not a copy of a document. Some earlier books & data, { such as: 1] "Pennsylvania's Pine Creek Valley and Pioneer Families", pages 411, 412 ( http://www.kbsb.com/kraybill/default.htm ) -and - 2] "HISTORY OF LITTLE PINE VALLEY LYCOMING COUNTY PA" } had this John's parents confused with a different John. Some of my *suspicions" seem to lead to the references from the Emery area (William Bonnell Emery) and the SAR & DAR info, which I am slowly picking up pieces on. (I hope to gain much more insight on this from a planned meeting in October 2009) My personal interest that is driving this: John is my SAR link for Bonnell. I could use a few other Soldier lines (English, Boatman, etc from the Pine Creek Valley area), but I want it to be via John BONNELL. BTW, I still live within about 25 miles of where John lived when he was in Lycoming Co. Not much movement in over 200 years! We also have a DNA project to help with this. So far, this branch of Bonnells is UN-attached to the majority of Bonnell/Bunnell lines in the US. Getting more Males that believe they are descended from this John Bonnell to have a DNA test would be very helpful in this quest - for all of us. The several sons of this John have family ties in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, and California, among others. This is a major Search in Progress for quite a few folks, so please; ANY and ALL comments/challenges/theories, and DNA Tests are welcome.
