Mr. Sperl was born in Bohemia on Mar. 5, 1894, and was married in Germany Feb. 12, 1920, to Mary Ann Hrabach. They came to the United States in 1923, settling in the town of Neva where they lived for a few years before moving to Antigo. Sperl had been in charge of the sterotyping department at the Antigo Daily Journal for 28 years and retired Jan. 8, 1955, because of ill health. He had undergone a major operation two years ago. He was a member of Z.C.B.J. Lodge and Stereotypers Union 90 of Milwaukee. Surviving besides his wife are three daughters, Mrs. Maurice Mader of Antigo, Mrs. De Lyle Bohse of Merrill and Mrs. Thomas Donohue of Antigo. He is also survived by four grandchildren; and two brothers and a sister, who live in Germany. His parents and three brothers preceded him in death. Services will be at the McCandless-Zobel and Bradley funeral home at 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. W. W. Werth officiating. Interment will be in the nausoleum with spring burial in the Antigo cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from Wednesday afternoon until time of services.
