Death was due to the infirmities incident to old age. Mrs. Lierman was born in Pommern, Germany, Dec. 4, 1849. She came to this country as a child. Her family settled in the town of Poygan, where she lived for a long time. The last 20 years were spent in Oshkosh. Her husband. William Lierman, preceded her in death. Survivors are four sons, Gust Lierman, Spokane, Wash.; William Lierman, Winneconne; Edward Lierman, Poygan; and Richard Lierman, Milwaukee; and four daughters, Mrs. Allen Anderson, Milwaukee; Mrs. John McCord, Casper, Wyoming; and the Misses Anna and Mary Lierman, Oshkosh. Also surviving are two brothers, Herman W. Engel, Oshkosh, and Robert Engel, Poy Sippi, and 18 grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. Friends wishing to view the remains may do so at the funeral home Friday afternoon and until the time of the services. ----------- Oshkosh Daily Northwestern | Oshkosh, Wisconsin | Friday, January 05, 1917 | Page 10 Edward Lierman of the town of Poygun has filed a petition for the appointment of Caroline Lierman as administratrix of the estate of his father, William Lierman. who died in Oshkosh, January 26, 1905, nearly twelve years ago. It is stated In the petition, which will be heard January 30, that the estate, to be administered consists of approximately $300 in personal property and real estate from which there is a revenue not exceeding $200 a year. ----------- Oshkosh Daily Northwestern | Oshkosh, Wisconsin | Monday, November 03, 1930 | Page 4 MARINE ENGINEER DIES ON VISIT AT CHICAGO Gustaf F. Enge1, 85, a marine engineer here for 50 years, died Sunday morning at 6:45 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. B.Folsom, at Chicago, where he had been visiting. He had been ill only a few days, as a result of the infirmities of old age. Mr Engel had lived in Oshkosh approximately 75 years. Fifty years of that time he was a steamboat engineer, retiring about five years ago. He was born in Germany Nov. 6, 1844,and came to this city at the age of 10. He had resided for the last 20 years at the home of his son-in-law and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Herman W. Lang, 72 Eveline street. The deceased was married in 1872 to Miss Bertha Tellock. She died in 1889. Of a family of nine children, three survive. They are a son, John F. Engel and a daughter, Mrs. Lang, both of this city, and the other daughter, Mrs. Folsom, Chicago. There are five grandchildren: one great-grandchild; four brothers, William and Herman, of Oshkosh, Henry, of Chicago, and Robert, of Tustin; and one sister, Mrs. Carrie Lierman, of this city. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Spikes & McDonald funeral home, Court and Otter streets. Rev. Theodore Irion. pastor of St. Paul's Evangelical church, will officiate. Burial will take place at Riverside cemetery.
