He was 83 years old. He was born March 5, 1918, in White Lake, a son of the late Anton and Edith (Goodwill) Schleinz. On Jan. 17, 1939, he married Bernice Waldvogel [at] St. Joseph Catholic Church, Phlox. She survives. Mr. Schleinz was employed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in Elcho and the Eagle River area for four years. He was also employed by Kraft Foods in Antigo as well as the Antigo Tie Plug Co. factory. In 1943 he began a career as a superintendent with the City of Antigo Parks and Cemetery Department, where he was instrumental in the development of the Lake Park complex and the little league baseball park. He was also employed at Queen of Peace Cemetery Association and served as the President of the Wisconsin Cemetery Association until he retired in 1982. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Gail (Gerald) Polzin, Appleton, Mary (James) Zelazoski, Antigo, Nita (John) Debbout, Fredericksburg, Va., and Lynn Euler, Antigo; three sons, Jack (Sally) Schleinz, Antigo, Michael (Kathy) Schleinz, Fredonia and Chuck (Jill) Schleinz, Neenah; a daughter-in-law, Lynna Lawrence, Antigo; two sisters, Jean (Clarence) Schumacher, DePere, and Marjorie Vehasselt, Fond du Lac, as well as 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Schleinz was preceded in death by a son, Carl Schleinz, in 1969 and two brothers, Jerry and Robert Schleinz. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at St. John Catholic Church, Antigo. Rev. Charles Hoffmann will officate. Burial will be in Queen of Peace Cemetery. Visition will be from 3:30 until 8 p.m., including a 4 p.m. parish wake service, on Friday and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Bradley Funeral Home.
