Racine, 55, Sheboygan died unexpectedly Friday evening at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. He was born Oct. 14, 1944 in Phlox, son of the late Robert and Lucille (Hoffman) Racine. He attended school in Phlox. One June 29, 1968, he and Dixie Van Cleave were united in marriage in Port Washington and recently, renewed their vows. Mr. Racine had been employed with the Sheboygan Area School District for many years until illness forced his retirement. He had served in the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Kevin and Rickie Racine, two daughters, Donna (Calvin) Hafner and Brenda (Keith) Jentsch, all of Sheboygan; eight grandchildren; four sisters, Ruthmary Kluckman of Janesville; Roberta Meeks of Port Washington; Lisa (Michael) Janzer, Port Washington and Wendy Racine of Sheboygan and two brothers, Cal (Karen) Racine, Port Washington and Luke (Linda) Racine, Cedarburg. He was preceded in death by a son. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Ramm-Ziegler-Novak-Rettke Funeral Home-Southside Chapel, Sheboygan. Rev. Jim Eller will officiate. Burial will take place Wednesday in Wildwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. Tuesday until the time of service.
