SCHUTTE, 80, PICKEREL, DIES TUESDAY Gertrude C. Schutte, 80, a Pickerel area resident since 1945, died Tuesday evening at the Antigo Community Care Center. She was born Feb. 18, 1902 in Shawano County, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Knoble. After living in the Shawano area during her youth, she moved to Minneapolis where she resided for a short time, then to Pickerel in 1945. On Sept. 29, 1950 in Elcho she married John R. (Chum) Schutte. He preceded her in death on June 9, 1976. The couple operated Schutte's Lodge on Big Twin Lake, Pickerel, for a number of years. Mrs. Schutte was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Pickerel. Survivors include two sisters, Pearl Cronnoble of Turlock, Calif. and Marie Chellsen of Minneapolis; two half-sisters, Mrs. Henry (Josephine) Fuhrman of Gresham and Mrs. Frank (Carrie) Buss of Caroline; a brother, Henry of Green Bay; and a step-brother, John Hartel of Pickerel. A brother preceded her in death. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Pickerel, Rev. Joseph Bauschka will officiate and burial will be in Lily cemetery. Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. Thursday at McCandless-Zobel and Bradley funeral home where a parish wake service will begin at 7 p.m. newspaper: THE ANTIGO DAILY JOURNAL - Antigo, Wisconsin; Wednesday, 14 July 1982
