McEwen, of Antigo, died Thursday at Langlade Memorial Hospital. He was 83 years old. Mr. McEwen was born Oct. 23, 1906 in Blackwell, a son of the late Alexander and Eliza McEwen. He married the former Florence LaFleur Sept. 25, 1925. She died in 1986. In 1988, he married the former Evelyn M. Hoffman, Antigo, who survives. Mr. McEwen was a conductor for the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Doris) Snyder, Traverse City, Mich., Mary Allen Barnett, Tulsa, Okla., and Mrs. David (Alice) Willey, Bella Vista, Ark.; two sons, David (Mary Jane) and George (Linda), both of Wabeno; a sister, Eleanor Boelter, Milwaukee; 34 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Levinson, a son, Richard, and two sisters. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Wabeno. Rev. Jerry Schmidt will officiate and burial in the parish cemetery.
