HOFFMAN DIES TUESDAY AT AGE OF 79 Arthur J. Hoffman, 79, of 304 Dorr street, died Tuesday morning at Langlade County Memorial hospital. A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Hoffman, he was born Aug. 7, 1898, in Marshfield where he spent his childhood. As a young man, he moved to Antigo. In 1922, he married Mary Aschenbrener who preceded him in death in 1942. On Oct. 18, 1945, he and Cora Turney were married in Rhinelander. She survives. Mr. Hoffman was an employee of Duchac Lumber company for 50 years prior to his retirement in 1963. He was an active member of St. Ambrose Episcopal church where he served on the vestry for a number of years. Surviving besides his wife, Cora, are a stepdaughter, Mrs. Hilda Steber, Antigo; two stepsons, Milton Kutchel, Antigo, and John Kutchel, California; a brother, Roy, Belmont, Calif.; and grandchildren and great grandchildren. Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Ambrose Episcopal church with the Rev. Keith Whitmore officiating. Burial will be in the Elmwood cemetery.
