You don't give any information on your grandfathers family so it is a bit difficult to narrow down a search - I found only one James Barker in the 1880 census but a few other name variants that should be taken into consideration. Maybe one of these will be of help to you. Surnames: Koch, Franka, Oldenburg, Nou Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/zEC.2ACE/228 Message Board Post: CARL KOCH Born in Germany in 1818, and died in Antigo April 12, 1901. He came to America in 1844, settling at Waukesha. In 1846 he married Miss MINNIE FRANKA, of Germany. They lived in Forest Junction, Appleton and Oshkosh till they came to Antigo in 1879, when this city had just begun to build. For a number of years he preached and did missionary work in the town of Norwood and other places near Antigo. His wife died last summer - June 15th. On last Sunday his remains were laid beside those of his faithful wife of more than half a century. They are survived by three of their eight children, Mrs. Simon Matheny of this city, Mrs. Julius Mundt of Milwaukee, and Frank Koch of Norwood. Mrs. Mundt and Mrs. James Greenwald of Milwaukee, and Matthew Irving of Oshkosh, attended the funeral, which was held at the M.E. church last Sunday p.m., Rev. F.A. Nimits officiating. Mr. Koch had been in feeble health for a year past, largely owing to old age. He was a good man and has gone to his reward. Antigo Daily Journal

My gggrand father and Henry were brothers and the only sons of Miles Avery Rockefeller (Making them 1st cousins to John D.) But because he was married bigamously, Miles dropped the name "Rockefeller" so that he wouldn't be found. The book "Titan" said Miles went to S.D. But I know that he was really in Wis. My gggrand was born in Quincy,Wis and sall the other members stayed there. He was the only one in S.D. LOL...Just a little history Thank you very much! Lisa

My parents and her family are buried there. Many tombstones remain. On a map follow 45 s from Antigo and then follow 47 toward the reservation I wish I could remember the name of the road but I believe if you were to take S north and take the first roard that goes left it will take you to the cem. which would be on your left. There are large pine trees at the cem. I think the road that we take is W north and then r on the first rd. Anyway it is in that gen area. Judy

Their oldest son was born in 1917 and I don't believe they had any children when they lived there so it could have possibly been before they were married. They both died in Racine, Wisconsin so their death dates wouldn't do much good. My grandma was a mid-wife for Dr. Ison in the early 1940's and grandpa ran a barber shop in Crandon, WI. thanks, Carol
