Mine was from June 22, 1882 also from Selchow and the family was also living in Gross Schoenfeld. The birth certificate is for Gustav Herman Wilhelm Martin(my g-g-grandpa), although his name doesn't appear on the record..i seem to be missing part of it. You can see the record at the following link: http://freepages.family.rootsweb.com/~gombashfamily/rodgersbirths.html It might take a long time to load if you have a slower internet connection. I know there is a Greenberg Rd in Polar and always thought it was named for the family. I have not investigated this family line but do have a copy of my husbands grandfathers birth cetificate. It reads: "'Selchow (city) 25 Nov. 1883. Laborer Ernst Fischer reported here today. He is living at Gross Schoenfeld. Protestant religon, that his wife Emilie Fischer nee Gruenberg, protestant, living with him at Gross Schoenfeld gave birth at their apartment 22 Nov 1880 pm to a male child with the names...." this was a copy of a birth certificate for Herman Karl Fischer. I sent it to my daughter who was living in Germany and she had it translated for me. I know some things are missing but I hope it helps. I am in WI in the summertime and will be happy to do look-ups for you if I can. AS I said I have not done a lot a looking for this family but you might try the Langlade Co Genealogy pages. They are in the process of putting all but the city cemeteries on Roots Web Suzie

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/zEC.2ACE/253 Message Board Post: I sent another email. Asking when they would be posting the Langlade county listings. Here is what I got. Ancestry.com is hoping to complete the posting of all images in the 1930 Census (including currently missing counties) by the end of December of this year. As you know, Langlade County is currently not available, and we hope that this county will be included by the end of the year. Unfortunately, this is the most specific information that we have been provided. We appreciate your patience in this matter. If there is anything else we can assist you with, please let us know. I just talked to their "pay" technical help and they said they knew of the problem but didn't know when it would be fixed or if there were other problems that would prevent that county's postings. The only recommendation was to respond to the answer you get by email saying you wanted this escalated, wanted to complain. Apparently there is not a link between the customer response center/tech help/online db and the folks doing the work. Tech's are not able to query the "programmers" and get a real answer.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/zEC.2ACE/226.4 Message Board Post: During the 1940's the US Army developed a training base and field outside of Antigo. Glider and observation pilots were trained at the small field. Small Piper Cub airplanes were used to train the pilots, who learned to fly the small planes and would then fly solo in a variety of modes. Observation pilots were trained to fly low, following the contours of the area. Several fatalities resulted from hitting barns or fences. Other pilots were trained as glider pilots. flying to the highest altitudes of the planes ability, cutting engines and gliding back to the training fields. As a youngster I would climb our family apple tree and watch the pilots practicing. Several fatalities occurred at the field with personnel walking into or being hit by the propellors of the planes. At the end of the war the field, which was greatly improved reverted back to civilian use. In 1946 I flew with a pilot in an old biplane and photographed the Senior High School from the air for the school photography club. Later, during the cold war it became the Radar Station noted in the Antigo Daily Journal in July.
