Buried one space away from Myrtle is John MAGUS. Born 8-28-1974 died 11-12-1904. O The headstone reads "At Rest" "born in Stockholm Sweden." a note I made to myself "Nelson on base of Monument" Apparently I took Magus to be his last name and not "Nelson". He may have died in Langlade Co. and maybe not. On the headstone Vanduzer is spelled VanDuser. Suzie Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: Brett_Hardesty Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.wisconsin.counties.langlade/1294.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: This is something I have found out recently,John Magnus Nelson drown 12 Nov 1904,where I do not know I have emailed the DNR to see if they keep lists of such things or know who does, this information came from a notation on Anna Magnus Nelsons birth certificate from 12 Jan 1905,Johns parents were Andrew and Annie Nelson according to the marriage license, they were Swedish and if you know anything about Swedish naming practices John Nelson would be John Anderson in his home country following the fathers first name rather than last so it is a name change at entrance into the USA I am sure.Myrtles parents were John George Drew and Ella Simmons Drew, her grand parents were Nathaniel and Sarah Nichols Drew. Given I cant find a death record for John that matches the notation the only next logical step I can think of would be an obituary.Interesting that you mentioned forest county as Myrtle and John were married there in 1902.I would be pleased if you could tell me where John is buried so I might discover a birth date,Myrtle is at the Elcho cemetery listed as Myrtle Vanduzer which was her second husbands last name so Ijust assumed John might be there as well. Thank you for any help you can offer. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. GEneology website. I indexed the Elcho Cemetery about 10 years ago and I just checked the records I have and do not find John Nelson. I do have other Nelson's and some Drews if that will help. Elcho is very near (5 miles) the county lines of both Forest and Onieda counties. It was not unusual for men to work logging camps in both counties. Have you checked them? There are a couple of cemeteries not far from Elcho that could also have been used. Where did John and Mrytle live? I am in Mo at the present time but I can check at a geneology library near my home if you provide more information. Who were mrytle's parents. Ages. any children.
