I see that in the Antigo Republican Feb. 2, 1911 a sister of Emma named Anna is mentioned, which is another postive link to the Buresh family I feel is probably Emma's. I have a date of Feb. 8, 1878 for the marriage of Peter Buresh and Mary Hynek. I am unable to locate the family on any census prior to 1900, and by then Emma Buresh would have married and left her parents home. However, I have located some census returns that I believe are the Buresh family to which Emma belonged. Despite the differences in surname spelling this is pretty definitely the same family throughout the years: 1900 US Census, Rolling, Langlade, WI Mary Barish - Children: Mary, Peter, Jennie, Annie On this census Mary is listed as married, head of household, mother of 6 children, 5 living. Mary's husband Peter does not seem to be living with the family. 1905 Wisconsin State Census, Rolling, Langlade, WI Peter Buresh, Mary Buresh - Children: Peter, Jennie, Annie. Peter (husband) is again living with his family. 1910 US Census, Antigo, Ward 4, Langlade, WI Peter Benish (Peter Burish) Mary Benish Children: Peter, Jennie, Anna 1920 US Census, Antigo, Ward 4, Langlade, WI Peter Bourish (Peter Bowrish) Mary Bourish Also buried in Queen of Peace Cemetery, Antigo Burish, Peter 1852 - 1925 Burish, Mary 1861 - 1937 These dates would coincide with birth dates on the above census returns. The Adobe Reader software is required to view, manipulate and print PDF data is included on each CD. States with maps and atlases currently available are shown in the graphic to the right. 19th century geographic and statistical data are useful to historians, genealogists and researchers with an interest in the landscape and cultural setting of this period. Early county maps may contain many places that no longer exist or that have been obscured over time. Atlases with statistical data provide vivid detail of 19th century pioneer lifestyles. Details on early maps are often difficult to read and these are no exception; however, by virtue of the Adobe PDF formatting, these documents may be inspected and printed at high levels of magnification without additional digital distortion; something that simply cannot be accomplished with paper reproductions and photocopies. There is a vast amount of information that can be gleaned from these sources and the diligent researcher will find these cartographic resources useful in their studies. ------------------------------------------------------------ 19th CENTURY ATLAS, MAPS, HISTORICAL GUIDES & GAZETTEERS (includes publications from IA, IN, MN, OH and WI) Historians, genealogists and researchers of the 19th century Midwestern United States will find the vast amount of historical research material in these books and atlases on CD a very valuable resource. Each of these extensive gazetteer and immigrant guides contain the description of places and place names, many of which are no longer found on contemporary maps, including: cities, towns, villages, settlements, schools, post offices, transportation routes and schedules, and much more. Historical Guides and Gazetteer CD's may also include maps of the period providing cartographic reference to 19th century places identified and discussed in the literature.
