Researching HASTINGS brothers Aaron V, Sylvanus, David of Gratiot area during 1830s and 1840s. I want to connect one of these men with Temperance HASTINGS who was in 1850 and 1860 census of Lafayette Co with large family. I am also researching the PETTEY family which lived near the Hastings. Joseph and Grace Pettey arrived Lafayette Co in 1830s. In 1850s John Pettey, son of Joseph, married Almira Pettey, daughter of Temperance. Around 1870 John Pettey dies. Almira Hastings Pettey marries Charles Lucia Ken Nordtvedt
