HI: It occurred to me today that many of you may not know that the Lafayette County Historical Society has a file of pictures taken by photographers in Darlington. These pictures have been taken over many years starting about 1900. These are the file pictures that the photographer has retained. The pictures are available for a small donation. Persons visiting the museum may search the boxes for relatives pictures.The museum is open 7 days a week from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.The address is 525 Main Street. The latest project for historical society is Time Capsule. We have asked the school children of the county to provide material about Lafayette Co today and what it may be like in 2051. The chest will be placed in the museum and locked. The key will be placed in the courthouse or safety deposit box. All donated items will be on display starting May 1 st and the Time Capsule will be locked about the first of July. Another project that we are planning is a rummage sale. The Darlington is having a city wide garage sale and we are going to see if we can help pay for this years heating bill. If you live in the area and would like to donate, contact me.
