Thank you for posting the story of the mine. My husband spent most of his childhood growing up near Shullsburg and never heard his parents talk about that mine accident. His parents were married in 1937 and lived on a farm in drybone. He is related to Rooneys and Cherrys. Not sure if this William Rooney was a relative, will have to check into this. I tried section E page 3 of the WIS State Journal and did not fine the article on the dedication. Rose DeRocher
