Folks, I have not been on for a while to tell you about what has been happening at the Historical Soc. Museum. Kathy Mesker just finished putup an exhibit of Milatary items and uniforms, ect for Memorial Day. They will be in place until the end of summer. She did an excellent job washing and cleaning the uniforms and setting up exhibits. So if you get to Darlington this summer stop by the Museum. We are open 7 days a week 1 until 4 pm or by appointment. Contact me and we will see that someone is there. We are making a time capsulle. Earlier this spring we asked all the county school children to do a project as to what Lafayette Co. is today and what it might be in 50 years. We will place all of the exhibits made by the children in a steamer trunk and place it locked in the museum to be opened in 2151. The key will be placed in the Regisister of Deed Office in the court house. A plaque will be placed on the trunk to tell people where to find the key. The childrens work will be on exhibit from June 15 th to July 4 th when the trunk will be sealed. Stop by and see the work and veiw the Military Exhibit. Lastly we are starting to put together a book on cheese factories in the county. We are in need of original pictures and stories about the factories. Bring your work to the museum or send them LCHS Museum, 225 Main St., Darlington, WI 53530 Deadline for this project is July 2002. Get done now then we will have it done. Later we will have news about "Barn Again".
