I'd appreciate any suggestions or help in sorting out a confusing situation with this family. We are coming up with Joseph and Margaret Conley with 2 different sets of children, two different marriage dates, two different maiden names for Margaret. (Dewham and Donahue) At one point we thought there may be 2 different couples by this name, but this seems pretty unlikely in the town of Mifflin in the 1800's. In 1893 Margaret sued Joseph for cruel and inhuman treatment in Iowa County. The document I have is 16 pages and in great detail. It does say that they were married in New Diggings in 1852. Another resource said they lived in Platteville at one time, and were married in 1857. So far I haven't located any marriage or death records, and that might help to sort this out. thanks
