I am researching the Harrington line, amongst several others, and have found some info on them, but need some more. The line I am searching is the Peter John Harrington family. In some places he is known as J. Peter, or John P. He was born in Ireland about 1825, and served in the U.S. Navy for the Mexican War. He married Margaret Leary (O'Leary) in Mass. prior to 1852, Their first 3 children were born in Mass and he then moved his family to New Diggings, Lafayette Co., between 1857 and 1859. Margaret died in 1872, and in about 1882, he moved his family to Iowa. Children: Patrick, b. 1852, Mass. John, b. 1856, Mass. Mary E., b. 1857, Mass (my great grandmother) James, b. 1859, WI Peter, b. 1861, WI Ellen (Nellie), b. 1863, WI Florence (or Flora), b. 1865, WI Timothy P., b. 1867, WI (was an attorney in Kossuth Co., IA) Margaret, b. 1869, WI I would appreciate any help with info on this family, including who else they might have been related to in Lafayette Co., as there are several other Harringtons listed there during this time frame. Peter did work as a lead miner, and so did several of his sons. Thank you in advance. Susie
