    3. Hello, listers, My direct line includes the family of Royal Carpetner, d. Jan. 3, 1833 in Lafayette County; lived and is buried near Darllington. Two of his children remained in Darlington: Rebecca, b. 1849, m. Joshua Wharrie; and Royal Theodore, b. 1841, m. Martha McConnell. The latter and their daughter Cora Belle are buried in Darlington. The other direct ancestor with Lafayette County ties is John Howe, m. Polly Johnson in Ohio. They were married in Morrow County in 1830. Evidence that they moved to Lafayette County is in marriage records for some of their children: Permelia Ellen m. Leander Carpenter in 1856 Harvey Howe married in 1870 Elizabeth Howe m. C.M. Ballard There is no death or cemetery record for John and Polly Howe; they may have moved with one of their children. Anyone with ties to these families in the Darlington area? Barbara Archer

    3. I have been off line for two days due to a server problem. I am sorry that you could not get in touch with me. I still have a problem in that kburnet@efortress.com does not work and will not for a few days to a week. If you need to contact me use k.burnet@efortress.com. Efortress gave it to me to because I became hysterical when I was terminated by mistake. I began babbling about my mailing lists. I think they thought I was just a little out of my mind but to keep me from calling them every 5 minutes - they gave me the new address. Life is back to normal again, thank goodness. 3. EDWARDS/TERRELL Thank you for the information you gave me on my previous request regarding RICHARD EDWARDS and ELIZA TERRELL. 1. Can you tell me where you got the birth and death date for Eliza? 2. I believe the children were: ALBERT GARFIELD, JENNIE, NETTIE, BEN, DELLA MAY, WILLIAM T. and JOSEPH RAYMOND 1 FEMALE, 1 MALE. Where did you find WILLIAM T. and JOSEPH RAYMOND? I'm sorry to be such a bother. My problem is that I am not sure if Richard and Eliza are mine. Jennie, Nettie and Ben are Albert's siblings for sure. Della May's birth record is the only one I could find and it lists the mother as Eliza TERRILL not TERRELL. Thank y'all for the help you have given me. Lafayette County is the best site I have used. 1. [WILAFAYE] CUNNINGHAM, James D.; PA>WI>NE
    2. Jennifer
    3. Hello everyone, I'm seeking info on my ancestor, James D. CUNNINGHAM, b. 1816, PA. Another researcher has it that James was a son of Thomas CUNNINGHAM and Catherine COOK of Fayette Co., PA, but I can find no candidate Thomas there, nor evidence of a likely COOK family for Catherine. (I *do* find evidence that his mother's maiden name was COOK, though, and am wondering if perhaps James' parents were from neighboring counties rather than Fayette?) James moved with his family to WI by 1830, appearing in the territorial census of Iowa County. In 1845 he married Lucinda JONES, daughter of George Wright JONES and Sara THOMPSON. James and Lucinda had four known children in the Lafayette/Green County, WI area: Warren D. (1851), Lydia (1853), James Doran (1856) and Ellen (aka Ella, 1858). By 1870 this family had moved to Seward Co., NE. A biographical compendium lists James' descendants among the families of HILL, POOL, COURTRIGHT and TINDALL. (I would love to know more about the first two, and I have more info on the latter two alliances if anyone is interested.) The connection between the CUNNINGHAM and COURTRIGHT families was possibly made in PA in an earlier generation. And I note that CUNNINGHAMs, COURTRIGHTs, TINDALLs and COOKs all lived in Beaver Co., PA in the early 1800s, although I have yet to find fact in that coincidence. :-) Can anyone help to fit this James with parents? Anyone have info on a CUNNINGHAM/COOK marriage? I'll be happy to share what I have. Many thanks for your help, and warm wishes for a happy and prosperous new year! Jennifer jennifer@leading.net

    3. Dear List Members: I found a Genealogy Chat Friends Club that is great. There are genealogy classes, a mentor program, special chat, a library, a newsletter and message board and a photo album. The almost 800 members are from all over the world. The best part is it is free. The classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday. These classes are very informative. I joined in on one this even and was impressed as to how well it was handled and the amount of information that was given but most of all how courteous each class member was treated by the instructor, Rita Lace. What a joy to be involved with researchers of all levels and not hear one word of put down. If you are interested, you will need to join this Yahoo club at http://www.clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/genealogychatfriends Again, I wish each of you a wonderful New Year. 1. [WILAFAYE] TARRANT-FEDEREN-SHANNON
    2. Hello to the Great State of Wisconsin, I am searching for any information anyone can provide me with regard to the surname TARRANT and FEDEREN. Both families lived in various parts of the state, but spent quite a bit of time in the Minneapolis area. I am searching for PHILIP FEDEREN (1883) and his wife EDITH FEDEREN (1884) and their two children FABIOLA TARRANT (1897) and CECILE TARRANT (1893). They were last known to be in the Twin Cities area in 1944, but their descendants could be anywhere by now. They were relatives of GEORGE A. SHANNON AND ISABELLA (McDonald) SHANNON of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, and their son ROBERT D. SHANNON, who was last known around 1942-44 to be living in Spencer, Iowa. Robert's wife was named JESSE and his children were ANNABELLE and GEORGE, also of Chippewa Falls, WI. Sometime around 1940-45, the family and the germane cousins and step-relatives scattered about the state for an unknown reason, so I'm asking for help from anyone in ANY Wisconsin County. Any information regarding these families or their descendants would be greatly appreciated. Yes, this was posted to every board in Wisconsin because the families scattered and I'm at the point of desperation. It conforms to the guidelines established by RootsWeb, USGenWeb and that awesome upstart ALHN, so it IS NOT considered spam. Take care all. I wish you the best of luck with your own searches.
