    2. First of all I apologise to any of you who are receiving duplicates of this email, I sent to every list that I belong to. I just wanted to pass this along, FYI: Hello, I live in St. Louis, Missouri and saw on the local news tonight that there is a BRIDGETON MEMORIAL PARK - 1843 - 1963 ( North St. Louis) that is looking for persons with family buried there. The airport is being expanded and they are going to move the CEMETERY. Is there a way to get this message to as many listers as possible in a short amount of time? Can you help! 3. Just a friendly weekly reminder of the Wisconsin Genealogy Chat Sunday night at 9:00 p.m. EST (Adjust for your time zone) We have been having a great group, so stop in and see if you can connect with someone else researching one of your lines. There have been a few questions about the chat so I will post the information here for those of you interested in stopping in and are new to chat rooms. 1- Go to http://huntsville.about.com/citiestowns/southeastus/huntsville/mpchat.htm 2- Click on "log on to chat" 3- In the Nick Name space- type the name you want to show in the chat room. Most choose something short and some put the state appreviation after the name, examples DebWI, JeanIL, RedWA, etc. You do not need a password or need to fill out anything else on this page. Once you type in your name click on OK, Connect lower left. 4- You have entered the chat room. You will type your messages in the space in lower left of screen where it says Type here. Type your message and hit enter. A couple helpful hints. To make the screen bigger and without advertisements click on the float button in the upper right hand corner. To enlarge the type - in the message space type *chat fontsize 14, this will enlarge the type font for easier reading. Hope this helps and hope to see some new names in the chat Sunday. 3. There are some indexes in the library at Darlington (county seat). You might find some help by contacting the Lafayette County Geneaology Society. Try contacting Janice or James Ronnerud at swtsales@mhtc.net I was at the Catholic cemetery in Benton a few months ago. If you need a name from there, I might have jotted it down. Just ask. 1. [WILAFAYE] From List Mom - Great Atlas Site
    2. Kathleen
    3. The following is a wonderful tool that was shared with me by someone on another list I belong to. Street Atlas USA. It is a mapping program on CD published by Delorme, a well-known mapmaker. You can find the location of cemeteries and towns. Not only can you find names, but you can find most any physical feature. The search results give you the Latitude and Longitude of an object. I then use that Latitude and Longitude in Street Atlas to locate the cemetery. After I type the cemetery I am looking for and receive the found sites I then go to "Show Feature Location" to see the map. The Geographical Names Information System (GNIS). It was created by the US Geological Survey and is wonderful. The URL is http://mapping.usgs.gov/www/gnis/gnisform.html Kathleen Burnett List Mom

    1. [WILAFAYE] Looking for SMITH connections
    2. I'm looking for info on the Robert SMITH family, who emigrated from Yorkshire, England March, 1849, to Lafayette County. I believe they may have joined Robert's brother James and father Francis in or near Argyle. The family consisted of Robert, wife Mary (REDFERN) and children Ann and Margaret (twins, born @1841 in England); Mary Ann, born 3 December, 1844 England; Hester, born @ 1843 England; and son Francis, born @1848 England. I think they may have had one son born here: William, born @ 1859 in Argyle. Robert died 9 October, 1867 in Argyle and is buried in the old Argyle Cemetery...wife Mary died 3 July, 1904, and is buried by him. I suspect some of the family moved to Nebraska and Colorado areas; I have some old photos taken in Grand Island, NE that say, "Billy's family" on the back. Daughters Ann and Mary Ann married twin brothers Edwin and Edward JACOBS and remained in Argyle area. I'd LOVE to find the rest of their family!! If you have any SMITH info please e-mail me at: NLWOOD52@aol.com and I'll be thrilled to share!! Nancy Wood
