    1. [WILAFAYE] Pickett Cemetery
    2. Donna, One very cold morning in January I forged a path thru the snow to look at the few remaining headstones in this cemetery. Listed are Lewis Pickett, his wife Francis and son, Lewis W. Lewis Pickett was originally from Spafford, N.Y. and spent a number of years in Ohio before moving to Wisconsin. I was told by a resident of Woodford that other headstones were removed from the cemetery and now grace a farmer's front lawn as part of a sidewalk! There may have been another stone or two but the snow cover was deep. I have more info on the Pickett families if you are interested. Gail Kopp Benton, Louisiana

    3. Hello fellow listers, I was surfing around the Norwegian Digest and one of the listers there, shared a great site. If you want to learn about the Scandinavian Volunteer soldiers during the Civil War, then you will enjoy this. Lots of names of men from Layfayette Co, and Walworth County and many others. I saved it to a floppy disk to enjoy and share. Go to: http://www.15thwisconsin.net/15rstsfs.htm Hope you enjoy. Nancy in Southern Illinois

    1. [WILAFAYE] Alexander McCarthy
    2. MARY TUCKER
    3. I'm looking for any information about ALEXANDER MCCARTHY. Lived in New Diggings around 1863-1887. His wife's name was Catherine and they had children(that I know of) named John b.c1860 in MA, James b.c1864 in WI, Patrick b.c1873 in WI and Timothy b. Oct 16,1874 in New Diggings. I found them on the 1880 census in WI Lafayette Co. but have not been able to find much else. I know Catherine, James, Patrick and Timothy were in Fall River, MA in the late 1800's with Catherine listed as a widow. Alexander was a lead miner in WI and I was wondering if he died there but can find nothing to verify that. Any information about this family would be greatly appreciated.

    3. My ggf has been quite a mystery. And mysterious. The marriage of Ferdinand M. Can someone help me with this? Thanks.

    2. Kathleen
    3. There has been a major problem with certain lists on Rootsweb since last Friday. I am not sure how this list is going to be effected by the crashed server at Rootsweb, you were not one directly effected. The server is up and running again and I have a favor to ask each of you. If you begin receiving a large amount of messages that have backed up in the system since last Friday. Please be understanding, USE YOUR DELETE KEY, yelling and screaming will not stop it. I am holding on for dear life. I will have messages coming to me from 171 mailing lists hitting me all at once along with bouncing messages and messages from those of you asking for help. Together we will get through this and look back on this day as the "Day of the Rootsweb Flood", and laugh. If you have asked to be unsubscribed, that request was most likely never received. Please understand that even if I unsubscribe you now, I cannot stop what you are going to receive. If the lists do not look the same, meaning the headers are gone. I will bo back and take care of that when this flood is over. Good luck and I look forward to getting back to normal when the sun is again shinning. Kathleen Burnett List Mom
