Viroqua itself is in Vernon County, but that is considered a "dry" community. There are very few establishments that serve liquor or beer. There is the old Nate's supper club, Viking Inn, Eagles Club,VFW and the American Legion. That is pretty much it in Viroqua. I did see a Thomas O'Connor buried in the Catholic cemetery in La Crosse next to a Dolores Marie Goodenough and she is listed as daughter, but she may be the daughter of the family in the next lot. The next time I am in La Crosse I will go to the register of deeds and see if there is anything on his death certificate, and I will also try to see if there is an obit for him after I get the exact death date.
