I knew he had been born in Shrewsbury, England, and I knew he had something to do with the iron foundry business in Wisconsin. That is about all I knew. I inherited some of his son Alfred (my Great Grandfather) wedding gifts from the Pioneer Iron Foundry. I also knew that Alfred married Jessie Spiers who became Jessie James, which always made us laugh when anyone asked if we were related.
