From "History of La Crosse County, Wisconsin", 1881, p. 747. City of La Crosse L. COREN, merchant, No. 83 Rose Street, has been a resident of La Crosse since 1868. He was born in Christiana, Norway, in 1845, son of O. O. Coren, who is still living in Christiana. Mr. Coren was educated in his native city, and came to the United States in 1866. He lived in St. Louis, Mo., one year, then came to Wisconsin, and lived in Edgerton one year, coming from there to La Crosse, where he was engaged in clerking in the dry goods trade till the spring of 1881, then started business for himself in present location. He was married, in 1872, to Miss Theresa Kjos, and has two children, Laura E. and Alfred T. [I am not related to this family and have no further information.
