R., at North La Crosse; is a native of New Jersey, born in 1832; came to Wisconsin in 1855; was at Horicon, Milwaukee and several other places, and settled in La Crosse in August, 1859; has followed railroading ever since he came to Wisconsin, and has been in his present position ever since he came to La Crosse. Has been Trustee of Village Board of North La Crosse. His first wife was Maria Gilmore, who died in 1870, leaving two children - Arthur J. and Charles, the latter died at the age of 2-1/2 years. His second wife was Miss Priscilla Atkinson, of La Crosse; has one child by second marriage - John F. [I am not related to this family and have no further information.
