From "History of La Crosse County, Wisconsin", 1881, p. 747. City of La Crosse CHARLES L. COLMAN was born in 1826, in the State of New York. In 1840 he removed to Green Bay, Wis., with his parents, remaining there five years, when he removed to Fond du Lac, Wis. In 1854, he removed to La Crosse, Wis., and engaged in the lumber business, in which he has since been actively engaged. [I am not related to this family and have no further information.
