    2. Naturalization papers are kept by the Clerk of Courts in each county. At least that is where I found my grandfather's papers. If the Clerk's office doesn't have them anymore, they may have sent them to the State Historical Society. Land grant applications are just like any other government paperwork. Sometimes you will find a goldmine of information and then other times you will get just the absolute minimum. Good luck, Lee Schmitz
