Hi Debbie, This is a very long shot but here is was I need to find out. Phoebe Verrier married a Ray Conners or O'Conners I believe in LaCrosse between 1880 and 1885, They had a baby girl Pearl and she died in infancy. Phoebe is living with her parents in Monroe County in 1880, She was a Catholic. Oral history states that she was from La Crosse. She is in Rock Island County Illinois by 1885. I have found no record of marriage or divorce for Phoebe. I believe she was disowned by her parents for the divorce form Ray. I know this is not much information and with all the requests you are getting certainly understand if you do not have time to look for a marriage to Ray and a death for Pearl in this time frame.
