I am looking for information on some of the children of Catherine and Christopher GANNON, who came to La Crosse County between 1850-1860. They first settled in Wauwatosa, near Milwaukee, when they came from Ireland in 1849. By the 1860 census, they were in La Crosse County, where they stayed from then on. Their "missing" children are: Owen GANNON (b abt 1813) and his wife Mary Peter GANNON (b abt 1832) Bridgit GANNON (b abt 1837) John GANNON (b abt 1838) Elizabeth GANNON (b abt 1844) These (adult) children all disappeared after 1850, except Peter, who disappeared after 1860. I assume Bridgit and Elizabeth married or became nuns (if they did not die of something), but have no way to know their married or "nun" names. There are Owen, Peter, and John Gannons elsewhere in the later censuses, and in Civil War records, but I have no way to tie them to my family. The siblings I do know more about are Luke GANNON (married Mary McCORMICK and stayed in La Crosse), Julia GANNON (married Matthew NEWMAN in Ireland, then died shortly after coming to America), Patrick GANNON (married his brother's wife's sister Anne McCORMICK and stayed in La Crosse), Lawrence GANNON (married Kate Hannegan and lived in Howard Co, Iowa), and Catherine "Kate" GANNON (married Nicholas GRAF, stayed in La Crosse a while, then moved to Howard Co, IA). Hopefully someone knows some of these missing people. I will share what I have with anyone who thinks we are related.
