    3. I think I own a shelf in the library; I have ordered so many obituaries. I need Anton's death certificate, which means I need to find when and where he died. Born in 1805, he was still alive in 1880. I found Anton's daughter, Theresa, buried under Theresa Roellig Schuman in the Oak Grove Cemetery. My Roellig/Roellichs came from Guntersdorf, Austria. There is a Stephen Roellig in the Oak Grove Cemetery. He was born in about 1813. He could be Anton's brother, but I need to see whether Anton and Stephen have the same parents, which means I need to order two death certificates and hope really hard that the informant knew the names of the parents. I also need to establish whether the Roellichs were Catholic or Lutheran and which ones converted because Anton's children do not appear to share the same religion. Either Clara converted and joined the Lutheran Church or else upon marrying the Kreibich sisters, Anton II and Wenzel converted to Catholicism or else permitted the children to be raised Catholic. The burials of the remaining siblings, Theresa and Franz, in nonCatholic Cemeteries, in addition to the father Anton's move to Alma, where some suggest he would have had to row a boat over the Mississippi or ride his horse a long ways to get to a Catholic Church, might suggest that the converts were Anton and Wenzel. But who knows? Other Roelligs in La Crosse can be found in various records of Lutheran Churches. My work is cut out for me. It's just a matter of getting time to do it.
