From "History of La Crosse County, Wisconsin", 1881, p. 777. City of La Crosse J. S. MEDARY, was born in Clermont Co., Ohio, March 12, 1839. He remained in Ohio till the age of 20. In 1860, he came to La Crosse and entered into the employ of J. R. Grant, as above noted, and has been connected with the house continuously ever since. He was married, in 1871, to Miss Frances E. Burns, daughter of Lieut. Gov. Burns, and has a family of three children, all living. [I am not related to this family and have no further information.
