Hello. I`m looking for a Martin Anderson ,b.1887. In Norway he was Martin Børresen, and emigrated in 1906 to Westby ,Wisconsin. I don`t know where he lived in 1910 ,but he was in Mauston ,Juneau County ,WI in 1917 ,and 1920 probably in Middleton ,WI and in 1930 probably in Sparta ,WI. I wonder if Martin could be in Amberg township ,La Crosse County ,Wisconsin in 1910? Could anyone tell me what the 1910 census tell about this Martin?? Thanks , Erik in Norway
Dear Debbie, Do you know off hand if there is someone who will look up the marriages at the court house? Doris
Hi Debbie--Thank you! I really appreciate your efforts. You have eased the itch on my "bump of curiosity". I suspect that they went to a movie because they didn't have enough money to rent a room! My daughter, who is a Methodist Minister will be interested and, considering that she is the one who brought up the subject, may be relieved. Although I think she is a liberal minister--I really don't know. (We brought her up Methodist, then we turned into Unitarians!) (I would be happy to help in your research if you happen to have relatives in Buffalo County. I seem to be related to half the county!) Happy Genealogy hunting! Dear Cynthia-- I don't live as far away as Doris Roberts but LaCrosse seems somehow to be almost as inaccessible. Please--could you check if there is a marriage record for Alexander Otto Michaels ( born October 29,1898 in Cochrane WI) and Daisy Vera Loesel ( born Sep 29, 1900) marriage date March 4, 1920? (Since I was born on October 2, 1920, little mention was made of their wedding anniversary! My daughter said the other day that her grandma Daisy told her that they took the train to LaCrosse, got married, and then went to an all night movie. I now realize that I do not have a marriage certificate for them, (and I have all of their records, etc.. I am an only child so have all of the "stuff!" ) I am curious and would love to know if they ever really got married or just took the train trip and came back and said they were married! Thanks for listening--and if you could look them up I would be most happy to pay you. I don't need a certified copy, just the information. Cheers Kay Barnard
I wonder whether Frank had children. That COULD be Uncle Frank's father. My Frank married Helen Erickson, my grandfather's sister. I will ask my cousin. Thanks for looking for me. I appreciate it.
Debbie, Although it makes me sad, it does help. Otherwise I'd be spending tons of times thinking this was the right family. I really really appreciate your doing this for me. Debbie, Although I did not take advantage of your kind offer, I wanted to express my thanks to you for your willingness to help others in their genealogical research. I wish that my grandfather, who spent countless thousands of dollars on a professional genealogist to find out who he was, could have seen the internet and its advantages in genealogical research. Debbie, it is kind people like you who make that happen. Thank you. Richard Pettys, Jr. Kennesaw, GA And next time you go, I am always looking for Suessmith and Papenfuss

I know Oak Grove on LaCrosse St. and the German Catholic Cemetery on Losey Blvd. were. Linda
For some reason I didn't even get the email from the woman going to the court house until today (the 2nd)! Oh well. Does anyone have any Gannons? They came to Milwaukee from Ireland in 1849, and then were in Barre (later called La Crosse) in La Crosse County starting some time in the 1850s. At that time anyway, all Gannons there were my family. Shelle Osborne
Does anyone know which cemeteries would be in the neighborhood for a family living in LaCrosse 1st Ward in the 1860 census? Thank you. Donna
Seeking info on the family of Francis H. Cuillard/Cullard. Francis born 1829 in France. wife: Matilda E. Cuillard/Cullard born 1832 England. Known Children: Robert A. Cuillard, born abt 1854 Charles H. Cuillard, born 1857. The 1860 census for LaCrosse Ward 1 in La Crosse County, lists this family. This Robert A. Cuillard probably died before 1870. Does anyone have information regarding this family? By 1880 Francis H. Cuillard and wife were living in Colorado. Thank you, Donna Cuillard
