I checked an on-line index - and it says that John Shuttleton enlisted 10 May 1898 and was discharged 27 Oct 1898. This is too late for the Civil War. He most likely served in the Spanish-American War. Anyway, I'm sorry I didn't check your e-mail address more closely and notice that you were not located in the US. I'm honestly not sure whether you can get these records mailed to a non-US address. Their website is: https://eservices.archives.gov/orderonline/start.swe?SWECmd=Start&SWEHo=eservices.archives.gov You can pay using a credit card, so that's not a problem, I'm just not sure whether they'll mail it overseas. I may be able to help if they won't send it directly to you. Check it out, and let me know if you run into snags. Oh, copy fees are going up on 01 Oct, so getting your request in soon is a good idea!
