I am living in Norway and I am trying to find out as much as I can about my ancestors and their descendents. Jacob grew up on a small farm in Ringsaker, Norway, with 4 brothers and 2 sisters. One of his brothers, Mathias, emigrated to US in 1869. Jacob's parents were Lars Andersen and Ingeborg Larsdatter. Ingeborg was the oldst daughter (b. 1811 and died between 1875 and 1900) of Lars Larsen (B. 1785)and Ahlis Nilsdatter (b. 1787) on the farm Haugom (different ways to write the name - Hougom, Hougum, Haugum). Lars Larsen's parents were Lars Joensen (b. 1743) and Inger Jorgensdatter (b. 1750). Lars Joensen's parents were Jon Larsen and Elie Pedersdatter. And that is how far back in time i have been able to track the people at Haugom. The farm itself was divided in smaller units before 1900 and they still exist today. But I do not know the people living at the farm - I have not been able to find all the descendents of Jacob's father. I would be glad to know more about the descendents of Jacob as well. Some years ago I found the family tree of Jacob, but with a lot of LivingF and LivingM. Any help appreciated. Lillie Skoy born 3/22/1882 may have been raised in a foster home after the death of mother in 1884.She weds James Haug.Any data would be helpful. Her father Olaf A. Skoy weds Mary Frances Doherty and has more children. We had Pertzsch for neighbors in Onalaska Wisconsin. Skoy/Skaai in Lacrosse co. april 12th 1890 and when she died in the mid 1890's he rewed in 1899 to Mary Frances Doherty.Mary is in the Catholic cemetery and Olaf is buried with Carrie in Norden in Lewis Valley cemetery.It is all on the Lacrosse cemetery and obit website also on the State Gene. history records site index.
