Just a suggestion to all persons researching their civil war ancestors. When you request the Pension file. Request the ENTIRE FILE. They will send you 20 or so pages of the record if you just request the file. When I received my great grandfather James Rogers file...there was so much in it that I was sure they'd sent the entire file. For some reason on a trip to Washington went down and looked at the file. Total amazement. It took me over an hour to copy the entire file. Since that time I have requested the ENTIRE FILE of another ancestor. They charged me $10.00 and then sent notice that there were 77 more pages and requested $25.00 more dollars. It was well worth the money. I would only do this with pension files though. Good luck Anne
