Wednesday Dec. 1, 1897 was James Warren Harriman's sixty-fourth birthday. Two weeks ago yesterday James H. Algeo, of Lyndon, was killed by the cars at Ramsey, Minnesota. The remains were brought to Lyndon for burial. He was forty years old. Camp Douglas is to have a Methodist church. A lot has been purchased and material for the foundation is being collected. Rev. J. D. Searles, the New Lisbon pastor, is pushing the enterprise. The Thanksgiving services at the M. E. church Thursday morning were well attended considering the attendance on former Thanksgiving occasions. A good sermon was given by Rev. C. A. Boughton.
