Mason, Mrs. Ruth Baldwin Mason, aged 71 years and 3 months. She came to her son's on a visit last Fall and by an accident, and by illness, was prevented from carrying out her original plan as to her return home. From her illness this spring she had recovered so much that she made her arrangements to start on the 17th inst. But on the 15th she was taken ill and failed rapidly. She had suffered from chronic heart disease. For fifty-five years or more she had been a consistent member of the M.E. church, carrying her religion with her wherever she went. This winter she gladly took an active part in the neighborhood prayer meetings at Mr. Mason's. The habitual expression of her countenance bore witness to the peace within. For some years she has been widowed, but those that knew her best, as wife, mother and neighbor, will miss her the most. Her son Riley arrived the day of her decease, while she was yet conscious and the two borthers, on the 24th, took their mother's remains to Cato for burial.
