( I had a horrid computer crash and lost almost 2 years of genealogy material that was not backed up. In some ways I am starting from ground zero again.) I have learned since then. I am so glad to let you know... I just got my hands on Hankinson, North Dakota's Centennial History Book--dated June 26-29th 1986! I have been haveing so much fun looking thru it. I'd be happy to mail off to you items that pertain to our family. I'll need you to e-mail your address to me again. Herman and Emelia (Leist---aka--I have found in the Hank. book she is also listed as Leish, Fust?!!?) are from the Pomerina Province, Germany. (Perhaps a place called Rosenow--It seems all the other Bladow's in the Hankinson Cent. Book are from this area. This might help researchers further. They all seem to have come around 1870/1871--I wonder what was happening at that time! Anyone have any clues?) My question is this---a relation called Aunt Elaine and mentioned they thought that...Herman Karl Friedrich Bloedow/Bladow's--- father---was named William. Do you know if this is true-or-have information supporting this? If this is a true lead---I have found information connecting a William Bladow (who immigrated in 1870-ish with his wife and five children)...they are... Herman, Charles, Anna, Amelia and George. This is all the information I have for now. Are these people related to us? *** see note below I also found a William Bladow in the 1930 Census living back in Janesville Wisc. He was Born around 1856 is 74 at the time of the Census--states he was born in and immigrated from Pomerina Province, Germany and came to the USA in 1871, was 25 years of age at his first marriage. (He would have been married around 1851 and would have been having children around 1852ish) In this census I find him living with his 2 daughter's--I think--Ester age 15, born around 1915 and Evelyn age 19, born around 1911. They are living on William's Daughter's farm she is Anna, age 40, and her husband William Ballenlive? Cannot read his last name clearly. I have included the information here so you can look it up on line at Ancestry.com --(William Bladow, Year: 1930; Census Place: Janesville, Rock, Wisconsin; Roll: 2610; Page: ; Enumeration District: 24; Image: 85.0) ***note Information gleaned form Edwin and Ida (Falk/Foeltz) Bladow Family pp213-214 and George and August (Roeder) Bladow Family pp215-217 That's all for now. November then January are my usual months for genealogy research. I just had to write you when I saw this message. Talk to you soon-- Shannon and family
