Macomber was born Nov. 18, 1828 in Clearfield county, Penn., and died suddenly March 19, 1910 at his home in this city. In the year 1843 he went to Richmond, Ill., and about ten years later left for Wisconsin, coming to New Lisbon in 1855 where he spent the balance of his life. Mr. Macomber was married June 6, 1853 at Black River Falls to Eliza Simplots who preceded him several ago from this world of toil and anxiety to a better world beyond. To this union were born six sons and one daughter, all of whom survive him - John, Joseph and Miss Mary of New Lisbon, Frank of Troy, Idaho, George of Wausau, Wis., Fred, of Aberdeen, Wash., and Dean of Eyebrow, Sask, Canada. In the year 1869 Mr. Macomber united with the Baptist church of New Lisbon since when he has been constantly affilated with its work. He was a man of quiet manners and good morals and was respected by all here. His death coming so unexpectedly with hardly a day's illness previous thereto only serves to remind us that "while we are in the midst of life we are in death." Funeral services were held at the home last Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Murton of the Baptist church. Burial was in the New Lisbon cemetery. We sympathize with them in their affliction.
