Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/wEC.2ACE/1365 Message Board Post: Joseph Darrow, born Leyden, Oneida, New York 29 Jun 1803, left New York State in the fall of 1852, coming through the Lakes to Milwaukee, arriving in Summit, Juneau in October where he settled and built the house where Dempster Darrow, his son, now (1889) lives. When Joseph and his family left New York Dempster was not with them because he was sailing on the Lakes at the time. He had not been home since spring and, therefore, did not know about the move of the family. By accident Dempster met his father on the street in Detroit where the family had laid over a day and thus found where he was going. Dempster followed in the spring of 1854. The source for the above data is taken from "An Armstrong Ancestry" as written by John Armstrong. A copy of the ancestry is in my files.
